This is NOT a soundboard. This bulletin is not in any way meant to disparage your efforts or your generosity, but to (hopefully) correct the impression abroad in some circles that as audience tapes get better and better, they somehow graduate to become soundboards. Some audience tapes can sound BETTER  than soundboards, but the difference is one of procedure, not of sound quality

My guess is that this was done w. full artist permission --- perhaps even by one of the  sound engineers --- with mike right up against the PA (what I used to call 'miked stage' or 'limited stage miking', for wont of a better term) . Sophisticated, [perhaps] professional recording, but. . .
