Hello Everyone. If it wasn't for my favorite radio station, WEHM out of Long Island, I probably would never have heard Gotye music. Not only was I familiar with that mega hit that sadly got bastardized by the top 40 maniacs and is played ad nauseam , but also some of the more intricate tracks off the latest album. Pretending to be a percussionist myself, this show grasped by attention from the beginning.  The combination of hard driving rhythms, borderline psychedelic synthesizer and background videos was mesmerizer. De Backer's vocal style has been compared to Peter Gabriel. I thought it reminded me of Beck and Radiohead. If your only exposure to Gotye is “Somebody That I Used to Know”, you owe it to yourself to give this a listen, especially if you like alternative music. Enjoy!
