source: WPLJ 95.5 FM Broadcast, with songs fading in and out, and with 3 or 4 radio station promos during the show. edited it as best I can to make the show continuous. Sound is OK, as I am not sure of the generation or lineage prior to my CD-R copy.


Comment: Sting closed out his US summer tour with a free concert in New York's Central Park on 12-09-2000. Best Buy, in association with NYC 2000, was staging the concert to herald the opening of its first 15 of a planned 40 retail stores in New York and New Jersey.
The 25,000 free tickets were distributed starting on 07-09-2000 via a guerilla marketing plan. Three marked vans scoured the city's burroughs with a team of six people per van. Ticket seekers were to go up to the van and say, "I want Sting tickets." A CD was given and scanned on the spot. It either revealed two free tickets or a performance of Sting which can be played on a CD player or computer. The 8 p.m. concert at the East Meadow was simulcasted via Westwood One radio network and was the only major Central Park concert in 2000. Before the show Sting said in an interview that the best part of the concert was that: "I will be able to walk home and not have to take a limo." Again Janice Pendarvis joined on backing vocals.
Sheryl Crow came out to sing with Sting on Fill Her Up. Johnny Lang also added some guitar to Fill Her Up. Like previous shows on the tour, Jason Rebello and Sting played a few bars of Stevie Wonder's I Wish (or Superstition) in the midst of When the World Is Running Down. Clark Gayton was thanked in the end.
