Next To You #2 [1:18] Source: TC-D5 Master Lineage: MasterCassette [Sony FeCr90] > JVCDeck(aziadj) > PCMM10 > WAV > SoundforgePro10 > TLH > FLAC Tapers Notes: I had technical difficulties that night hence the channel loss and crappy sound problems. Munichhilton Notes: The problem with the microphone drop outs is a bummer, but its only on 6 of 18 tracks...33%. And 2 of those have very minor drop out issues. Otherwise this is a really great recording with all instruments nice and clear. There is a person close to the microphone that plays a tambourine every now and then....luckily in perfect time so it sounds fine. You can occasionally hear Stewart's high hat pedal squeaking and thumping. Transfer notes: This is a fresh transfer of the original MASTER tape from this already circulating show. Virtually everybody has the third gen version that was a japanese boot years ago. A select few have the first gen version as that was the 'safety master' that was sent around. Almost nobody has this which is a direct digital transfer of the master from the taper himself. I'm honored and proud to be trusted by ARH with his original master tape, a true artifact. It came out great and is the definitive version of this night in New Orleans 1980. Many thanks to Fabien for his coordinating and to ARH for being there this night with gear in hand.
