Just a transfer of the tape *as it sounds*.  The original dynamic range, as  poor as it is, has been retained.  

comment: This sounds like it could actually be a mono recording, but the amount of noise on the tape as well as a highly compressed (typical 80's FM) signal makes this hard to determine.
