Roxanne [4:17] 08. Audience [2:11] 09. Next To You [2:28] 10. So Lonely [5:57] No Noise Reduction, some analog EQ (bass reduction + increased treble response), no compression, no pitch adjustment. Some superfluous tape breaks removed. Some volume fluctuations adjusted. Tape Owner: Jock Lineage: Low gen cassettes (3x TDK SA90 IEC Type II Cr02) > Pioneer CT-F4040 > NAD 314 Amp/Eq > ProTools MBox2 > ProTools > AIFF > xACT FLAC (level 8 w. verify) Transferred and archived by: tj7 in January, 2007. tj7 Notes: The pitch is very, very slightly 'high' in this recording, but I personally don't find it too disturbing - it is a subtle flaw. I'd be happy (with the permission of my source) to pass the tapes onto someone with analog pitch correction equipment to transfer - as long as they also have a decent analog EQ to run this through. I usually don't mess with EQ but this tape sounded a little muffled and bass-heavy. The tapes sounded very good overall but some tracks suffer from nasty analog tape wear artifacts, most notably on 'de do do do' and 'invisible sun' (the latter of which suffers overpowering bass). Most interesting in this show, aside from the inclusion of three tracks which were soon dropped from the set, is the way 'Synch II' is played (check out the eighth-notes on the bass all the way through, and Andy's alternative guitar part) as well as some of Sting's doubling of the guitar part toward the end of 'De Do Do Do'. Loads of little mistakes and teething problems throughout - interesting show! These early Synchronicity shows are really special because of the all-too-brief inclusions of 'Demolition Man', 'Every Little Thing' and 'Next to You'.
