Can't Stand Losing You [8:39] Lineage: Unknown analog equipment > Master Cassette > cassette > cassette > Stand-alone CD burner > EAC > WAV > Audigy Audio Cleaning Lab > FLAC front-end (level 8) Comments: Pretty good recording (for the era) from near the end of the Police's 1983/84 "Synchronicity" tour. I've had this on tape for nearly 20 years, and I have no idea whether it has stood the test of time or not. On the whole, it sounds like a good-fidelity audience recording that may have been dubbed on poor audio equipment -- I found the high end to be a little lacking (and added a little to the bands around +4-+10 db to compensate). Crowd noise is tolerable -- there are moments when you'd think the Beatles were in the room, but the audience's enthusiasm doesn't really mar the music. This one is posted by request -- given the generation, this is probably as good as you'll find for this show (although I would be happy to be pleasantly surprised). I'd give it about a 7-8 out of 10; it's probably among the better late-career audience tapes for The Police. This appears to have been mastered on 60-minute tapes, judging from where the tape flips are. I placed the disc split at the first tape flip.
