Outro [1:22] Source: excellent stereo audience recording floor DFC FOB, 20 - 30 meters from the stage Lineage: Sound Professionals SP-CMC-8 (hypercardioid) > Church Audio stereo mic preamp CA-9100 (bass roll-off on) > Edirol R-09 (24 bit / 48 kHz) > USB transfer > wav > WaveLab 6 (level correction, normalizing and downsampling) > wav (16 bit / 44.1 kHz) > shntool (stripping file headers) > wav > EAC (V0.95 beta 4, fixing SBEs) > wav > shntool (zero padding at the beginning and end of discs) > wav > EAC (track splitting by cue sheet) > wav > FLAC frontend (V1.7.1 Etree edition) > FLAC Recorded by: martin66 Transferred by: martin66 File Size: 670 MB (FLAC) Notes: This is a solid performance from the band's visit to Zürich. The show was rather short and the setlist contains no surprises. Since I was aware of the awful acoustics of the venue I decided to switch on my preamp's bass roll-off filter and it perfectly attenuated the low end reverb that was audible throughout the entire concert. There haven't yet popped up a lot of other recordings from the European leg of the 2008 tour. But this one has the potential to become one of the best of them (like my last year's recording from Munich). There is a small cut between the main set and the encores due to technical reasons. Just a couple of seconds of audience cheering are missing. Here is a more detailed description of the processing I did: - WaveLab 6 (V6.01) has been used if not noted otherwise - Level correction of only the first file with audio montage: +3.50 dB -> 0:00 to 4:24.512 +1.50 dB -> 4:27.264 0.00 dB -> 4:39.189 until end - Sample rate conversion from 48 kHz to 44.1 kHz: Peak Master (Input Gain = 1.10 dB, Out Ceiling = -0.05 dB, Softness = 0) -> Crystal Resampler plug-in (quality = ultra) plus Apogee UV22 HR Dithering plug-in (output bit resolution = 16 bits, dither noise type = low, autoblack = off) -> rendering to 16/44.1 wave file - Stripping file headers with shntool down to canonical size - Fixing sector boundary error in 2nd file (zero padding 352 samples at the end) using EAC (V0.95 beta 4) - Zero padding at the beginning and end of discs (1 s = 75 blocks = 44'100 samples) with shntool - Track splitting by cue sheet using EAC - Converting to FLAC format with FLAC frontend (V1.7.1 Etree edition) Well, that's it! Enjoy the recording and the show!
