Fire [3:49] Lineage: Cassette (unknown gen) > CDR Comment: This recording was converted from cassette to CDR, and on a few occasions, if you listen hard enough, you can hear some very light "grumbling" that was a result of the noise reduction process. I believe that this is a soundboard recording, but I am not 100% sure. A few things lead me to this conclusion. First, the sound of Bono's voice is awfully distinct for this to be an audience recording. Second, there is a bit of electrical interference during a few songs which is very reminiscent of feedback that can be heard in a soundroom...Take it from someone who knows! The recording doesn't have quite the same "feel" as other soundboard recordings, but going by "feel" is like trying to compare apples and oranges. Regardless, this is a nice recording of a concert that is difficult to find on CDR. I would recommend acquiring it if you're a big fan of the early material, especially since it contains performances of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New Year's Day" in their fledgling stages. Furthermore, a very funny scene occurs between "New Year's Day" and "Gloria" when Bono invites people up onto the stage to speak their minds while Edge adjust his guitar. This concerts represents the best of U2 in the early '80s!
