The Ocean [4:05] Total Running Time: [1:13:00] Lineage: CDR > EAC > FLAC (Level 6) Comments: This is simply a fantastic CD of a pré- war concert. U2 put on a solid, high-energy performance. Surrender, Bono is promoting the War album. Sunday bloody Sunday, gets a long introduction. Bono explains that he wanted to write a song about Ireland, Dublin. About the things that are going on. Steve Wickham, appears on stage and gets a grand introduction by Bono. He states that the band got attached to him and love him very much. Steve plays the fiddle with the band during Sunday bloody Sunday and Into the heart. Unfortunately the drum sounds a bit too loud so, that the fiddle is drown out. At the beginning of New Year's Day Bono screams "WAKE UP!" so loud that his voice squeals! He changes the first verse and the song is performed very aggressive. A superb version of this song is played! After 11 o'clock tick tock, the band starts to play We wish you a merry X-mass and a Happy New Year. In the background you hear the audience sing along. Ocean, the instrumental part of the song is very impressive. The sound of this recording is clear, loud and close sounding. The instruments are a bit too loud, the rhythm section is most prominent. The audience is mostly in the background.
