Notes: I apologize for the delay and problem with the initial posting of this new series. this is the same flac files originally posted, someone had requested a band that is not allowed and those requests all had to be removed, which they now have been. sorry they weren't the 1st time. so we should be good to go now with this new series. welcome to a brand new series of upgrades and some possibly new masters to circulation the Taper Anonymous master series comes from a few various tapers, and will feature mostly bands from the 1980's. so there will be some variance in decks and mic's used, this first one sounds like it was probably made on an auto levelling deck, but it is a a very good quality recording with not much crowd noise, especially considering this was a show with U2 at their most enthusiastic, touring the "war" album. even though the Alarm and Romeo Void opened, and apparently another band played after this too, (I don't know who, Bono didn't say, maybe Bono didn't like them much?) still a full length set for U2 here. the 1st song cuts in, there was an amp problem a couple of minutes into it (1st time for U2, Bono said) which is why there is a second out of control track. it didn't cause a long delay, just a minute or so. I don't think there's anything missing after that until the recorded outro fades out following "40". one of the best live rock albums ever was recorded on this tour, "under a blood red sky", mostly from Red Rocks, Colorado show soon after this, but afaik none of this show is officially available. the requests listed below are not mine, but for others involved in sharing this series. (I'm looking for mostly 70's stuff, RTF, Mahavishnu Orch, Larry Coryell and similar) Notes 2: we are presenting a new master series from the collection of "taperanonymous". these will cover a variety of rock and alternative bands from the 1980's. the 1st one takes us to the Bay area of San Francisco for a fine set from U2 promoting their 3rd album, "war". this series comes from multiple tapers, so the decks used are likely going to vary some. although not very hi-fi, this capture is a very clean one without much crowd noise, especially considering that this was one of U2's most exciting and enthusiastic tours. everyone comes through well. this taper was fairly close to the stage and well positioned. it sounds like an auto leveling deck was used here, but the quality is consistent throughout. Most of these masters have never been circulated and some have been traded only once in first generation copies made with a bad auto reverse cassette deck. The collection is comprised of masters from friends from the east coast, West coast and South, and are of mostly shows from the 1980's. The length and magnitude of this series depends on help from the collector community as "taperanonymous" is looking for certain shows to add to his collection. No need to post shows already torrented or ones in wide circulation. This is a special request to dig a little bit into those dusty boxes in your parents' attic, or the vintage live tapes you dumped into storage 20 years ago. Here is what he is after - These specific dates do exist and have appeared on traders lists years ago. Dimeadozen.org: Torrent 771121 (by glasnostrd19)
