Following these issues being fixed the rest of the tape was supposed to sound distinctly different due to the new stereo seperation. This tape did not reflect those circumstances so I have to assume this is from a different source. This tape is stereo although the left channel is distinctly louder) Notes: Aardvark's Aarchives presents U2 live on The Unforgetable Fire tour, recorded at the old Maple Leaf Gardens on March 28, 1985. A fun setlist, pretty standard for the time. Just under four months down the road from playing Massey Hall in Toronto (3,500 - 4,000 seat) to playing Maple Leaf Gardens (10,000+) and jut under four months removed from the global showcase that was Live Aid and U2's ascendancy to rock superstardom. Spirited setlist - Bono extolls the Prime Minister of Canada and the President of the USA to take head as an intro to Seconds. Along with Martin Luther King he calls on the people to sing for Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones and a host of other dead rock dieties. And one lucky guy get's brought up on stage to play acoustic guitar during Knockin' On Heavens Door. Even does a little solo. Very cool. 40, while complete, ends rather abrubtly.
