"Bono's improvisational skills are tested when a sudden power failure blacks out all the lights during I Will Follow.  'A man tells me that our lighting rig has broken down.  Well, if the lights don't work, then let's turn on the house lights, I don't care," says Bono.  After the song he adds, "I don't know why at rock & roll concerts they bring all these expensive lights, smoke bombs and shit - we don't need it!  Why? Because we have the spirit of Larry Bird with us!' (Larry Bird is a local hero, a basketball player with the Boston Celtics)  U2 continue the show in a completely illuminated arena for an hour before their expansive lighting system works again and the 16 spotlight operators resume their jobs.

"Steve Morse of the Boston Globe writes in next morning's newspaper: 'Where other superstars might have fallen flat without their lights, U2 carried on like troupers, forging an ever closer bond with the audience.  Bono was infinitely more chatty, while still managing to convey the spiritual power of the band's music as the crowd spurred him on with long, majestic singalongs."

There seem to be several assorted boots from this date.  This is a B quality audience recording, obtained in trade, lossless (but of course).  Since my earlier inquiry seeking out a better quality did not get any response, and since I was specifically asked to upload this one, here it is!
