Love Is Blindness [5:15] Source: JEMS DAT Master - Recorded at 32 khz Lineage: Sony TCD-D3 DAT w/ Sonic Studios Mics > Master DAT > Wavelab > .wav > DVD-R > Goldwave (split) > FLAC Notes: This show was pretty standard for the first leg of ZOO TV with a couple things to note. They were still developing the songs somewhat, and as such some of them still sound a tad rough (Bono Butchers "When Love Comes to Town" in what would otherwise be a slower, more Stones-ish performance). Of course this also meant that most songs were also a bit more spontaneous, and along these lines there are a couple end of song snippets that weren't done much elsewhere on the tour. "Slow Dancing" also makes one a handful of appearances on the 1992 tour. I believe this was the first "Unchained Melody." Anyway, this is a nice recording. I would say it lacks the sharpness or crispness of some other recordings, but sounds close, unobstructed and clear with plenty of bass. For what is apparently sometimes a poor sounding venue this sounds pretty good. A few rather minor problems though. First there is some diginoise, which you will know when you hear it, and occurs as a result of the age of the DAT. They did their best to minimize it, and it is restricted to the first few tracks, but know it's there. Second, at several times during the show there were apparently mic problems. Apparently these problems caused loud spikes in the sound, and as such they were replaced with silence. For most of them it sounds like fades were added at either end of the gap, but a couple others did not have the fades. They are pretty noticeable so not worth listing (the majority seem to have been in "Ultra Violet). Other minor flaws I noticed included the following, some of which may be attributed to the mic problems and some which may just be clapping or whatever, who knows. I just like to mention them: track 6: tiny gap at 0:35 and left channel pop at 2:48 track 8: pop at 3:46, right channel pop at 4:16 track 10: pop at 4:36 track 14: pop at 5:48 track 21: tiny gap at 3:42 track 23: 4:58 pop
