These appeared to be the best versions out there. First I took Bakerstuff and did a full mastering of the set, using a 6 band parametric to even it out. Then ran a multiband compressor to get the levels up. Chris’ was a bit more challenging due to the distance. First I did a pre master to see what I could get out of it, which was quite a bit. This required bringing down the spike at 1200hz that was giving it most of the distance sound, and then I narrowed the soundstage to give it even more clarity. This pass was used as the patch for Bakers’ version, which was good but had 2 people constantly screaming throughout the show. I then did another pass on Chris’ with a bass roll off that would be used as the ambiance for the show. The mix was kind of done like a soundboard / audience matrix where Bakers version was up full and Chris’ was mixed back to give the space to the recording. The end result is very clear vocals with a lot of punch, but with the ambience to give you the feel of a stadium show without being too echoey.
