Sorry, no artwork (feel free to make some) Comments: Note: This is a 16/44.1 file set, which can be burned directly to CD. A 24-bit, high-fidelity version has been posted separately. The recording is seamless; the disc breaks above are merely a suggestion. Posting this at the request of the well-known Boston taper "Hobbes4444" -- though I prepped this file for upload, the thanks should really go to him for his generosity in sharing this recording and his speed in passing it along. This is a worthy addition to his body of work over the years, and I appreciate him making this one available to U2 fans around the world so quickly. The second of four nights in Boston; yet again featuring a strong setlist and a passionate audience. The setlist was scrambled after "Every Breaking Wave" - for the first time on the tour, "Bad" was moved up in the setlist in honor of the 30th anniversary of its performance at "Live Aid," and "Beautiful Day" marked the end of the main set, with "Bullet the Blue Sky" moved into the slot behind "With or Without You." I'm sure that there was some work to be done by the various technicians to accommodate this requirement, since the taped intro moved into the waning notes of "With or Without You" without the customary encore break. Listening to it from 1000 miles away, it seems like the change worked pretty well. Recording quality is much better than Hobbes' recording from the prior night -- really great mix, and nothing really needed to be done to enhance the sound. Unlike the prior night, I didn't notice any audience members near the taper who mar the recording in any way -- to my ear, they appear to be quiet and respectful, and talking/clapping is really minimal. If this isn't the best recording to surface from the tour so far, it's close. A note to tapers: If you can find a good club or front-balcony seat beside the stage, that is probably the best location for taping this show. The GA section has speakers that are almost directly overhead; on one hand, it's good because there are speakers all the way to the back of the arena as opposed to over the stage, but on the other, the sound is coming directly down on you as opposed to in front of you. It's a bit tricky to record. Stealth tapers with cards on the floor will need to orient their microphones almost directly upward to get a good line on the sound ... and even then, it's tough. Omnis might be the best bet from the floor. I had my best luck with my cards on the club level. Many thanks, again, to Hobbes4444 for passing this one along. Mp3 samples are included in the comments.
