(14): September 25 1987. Philadelphia, PA. JFK Stadium. (19): February 27 1992. Lakeland, FL. Lakeland Arena. Rehearsal. Sound Quality (1-2): Excellent studio. Endings are cut. (3, 15): Excellent studio. (4): Good Broadcast. Low vocals and high bass. (5-8): Very good broadcast. (9): Very good audience. The sound is better than on other recordings I have heard of this concert. The audience noise has been reduced. (10): Good soundboard. Suffers from distortion. (11-14): Good broadcast. Recorded from a videotape (16, 17): Good studio. Suffers from static. (18): Poor audience. This is the worst recording on the CD at the beginning, but it improves towards the end. (19): Excellent soundboard. Sounds like a near perfect broadcast! There is a slight echo because Lakeland Arena was empty at the time! Lineage: Silver Disc > CDR Manufacturer: Selection 19 Catalog: HB 003 Matrix: TSD HB 003 Comments Track 8 is just "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" with a few lines of the Simple Minds song "Someone, Somewhere in Summertime" added on at the end (Jim Kerr makes a brief appearance for this Track). Track 9 is from The Conspiracy Of Hope Tour, and is performed with Sting and The Police. Track 11(with the enchilada verse) and Track 12 (Bono sings about Adam and Edge, who then chips in with his bit) are both quite interesting and amusing. I've seen both these tracks listed with the same sources on a number of other CDs. Their actual locations are fairly accurate, but as far as I am aware the only recording of these tracks was in the TV Special 'Outside It's America', which would suggest that these have been lifted from a video recording. Track 13 is only lasts 38 seconds long and is just Bono singing a few lines from "Lucille", which he says he has just written that morning. Track 14 is with Bruce Springsteen. This is the only studio version of "Springhill Mining Disaster" (Track 15) that I am aware of. Track 19 was performed and recorded (or broadcast via satellite) "exclusively" for the BBC's 'Top Of The Pop's', which would explain the excellent sound quality, and rates as one of the best versions I've heard! I think that the echo actually adds to the atmosphere of the track. Worth getting just for the excellent recordings of "Springhill Mining Disaster", "One", "People Get Ready", and "Southern Man" (despite the static problems).
