Disc 1 is an exceptional take. The highly energized opening of "Sympathy For The Devil" and "God Part II" sets the pace for the first three songs (very good live versions of each one too!). The pace slows a little as U2 goes into "All I Want Is You", "Where The Streets Have No Name", and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", but the atmosphere is perfectly created. "Where The Streets Have No Name" was dedicated to Samuel Beckett, who passed away that week. Bono says, "It's kind of sad he never made it home, but he dreamt of other lands, of another home, Where The Streets Have No Name." Then, in " I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", Bono says (of playing back in Dublin), "We've been playing in all these BIG places, so we thought we like to play a small place again...It's nice to be home." Disc 2 begins with the continuation of the Point Depot concerts. Tracks 1-5 are the "post-card" to the European nations, as Bono wishes Czechoslovakia, Romania, Germany, etc.. a very happy new year. The tempo speeds up again as the highly charged "New Year's Day" takes the stage. This was the concert that was broadcast live to Eastern and Western Europe, so undoubtedly the emotional implications of the ending cold-war heightened the adrenaline flowing through Bono's veins at this point. Tracks 6-8 are a cut from some leg of the ZOO TV Tour. Not much to say here other than U2 did an interesting combination of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" with "Stand By Me". Tracks 9-14 are from the worldwide broadcast of the August 28, 1993 from Dublin, Ireland. It continues on Disc 3. Nothing new as far as the Zooropa Tour goes. If you've heard these songs as part of their tour before, you've heard them on this disc. The sound quality is quite exceptional for a bootleg, with very little interference or that sort from the audience. In all, I would highly recommend this set to anyone who can get their hands on it. It was a little pricey if I can remember right, somewhere around $90CA, but worth it. The only downside is that there are no liner notes. There are only a few pictures (some of which aren't bad) that have been collected throughout the tours. Enjoy! This is the original pressing on this label.
