Show Promo Spot II (Music & Voice - I Will Follow) [0:56] Westwood One Off The Record Special # 85-05 Interview and Studio Tracks with host Mary Turner Original Airdate: Late January / Early February 1985 Lineage: Original Westwood One pre-FM Vinyl LPs ---> audio-technica AT-LP60-USB Turntable ---> Audacity ----> .wav files ---> Goldwave --->Trader's Little Helper Level 8 ---> FLAC files ---> U2 Torrents --->You Greetings everyone. I haven't contributed anything here for a while, but I recently grabbed this very rare radio show from the Westwood One Radio Networks off eBay, and I knew it would be a nice addition to this tracker. This is a one hour, double LP, pre-FM transcription radio show from the Off The Record Specials with Mary Turner series of shows. I have literally dozens of these shows in my collection, but this is the only one I have featuring U2. These shows ran weekly throughout the 80's and 90's on stations in the US that paid for the subscription. The shows contained interviews and music from popular artists of the day. U2 were not featured as heavily as some other artists, and the series was notorious for repackaging material for multiple broadcasts. You can check out a large list of these shows on the Discogs website here: https://www.discogs.com/label/1831481-Off-The-Record-Specials-With-Mary-Turner While this exact show is not listed in the Discogs database, there is at least one other such show on vinyl from 1983 featuring the band which is listed. I also have a similar show on compact disc from 1997 that I can add if this torrent is received well. On this exact show, Adam Clayton and The Edge are interviewed regarding all things U2. My copy of this particular show did not come with a Cue Sheet (the data sheet usually included listing all of the songs and the side lengths so that DJs could keep track of what was played and when), therefore, I am guessing on the exact broadcast date. (Show # 85-01 on Discogs does have a Cue Sheet, and that show aired between the 31 December 1984 and the first week of January 1985, therefore, this show, which is Show # 85-05, should have aired about four weeks later.) I have edited out all of the officially released material (the songs between interview bits), but very small portions of each track do exist as fade-ins and fade-outs. I have included all of the commercials which aired (as separate tracks) and have also included all four "Almost Complete Sides" of each LP for those who want to hear the show in a semi-uninterrupted state. ("Almost Complete" because again, the official tracks are edited out.) I hope you enjoy this torrent! Peace. U2Torrents.com: Torrent 10901 (by BPDNEDCID)
