Kiss Concert Running Time: [1:59:48] Source: Hi8 master > second generation VHS > DVD Lineage: Converted to DVD by: Unknown DVD Authored by: MLK Quality: Very Good Comment by Custin: The Unforgettable Fire footage is an audience-shot video filmed from in the stands on the right side (Adam's side) of the arena at an approximate 20 degree angle form the stage. The notes that were distributed with this recording state that tripod was used. The camera does remain quite still throughout, although there are a few shakes. Apparently the camera used to film the show did not have a high enough powered zoom to produce closeups, so the footage is exclusively wide-angle. The tightness of the footage does very somewhat, but the changes are barely noticeable. The taper is too far from the stage for the viewer to be able to make out fine details such as features on the band members' faces. Yet the overall clarity of the picture is pretty good considering the age of the video. The footage is a little bit dark and the heads of people in front of the taper present occasional obstructions. The audio is solid, but not great. It's about what you would expect to to be produced by a video camera in 1984. There are approximately 10 seconds of static between "New Year's Day" and "Pride", the video then cuts back in during the intro of the latter. The first five seconds of footage during "Pride" have both audio and video distortion. The bonus footage of the September 27, 1989 concert in Sydney is pro-shot with audience audio. It was filmed by a Channel 10 cameraman from the pit in front of the stage. This is the same footage that is included on the "Sydney - 27/9/89: Channel 10 Pit Cam" DVD. However, the quality of the video on this recording is higher. Compare the screen captures and you will notice that this video is sharper, clearer, and shows more definition. Track 27 is poor quality audience-shot footage of a Kiss concert. While indexed separately, it is not included on the menus. To be honest, I have no idea why it is on this DVD.
